Role-based actions
People in the affected area
- Apply Escape, Hide, Tell based on the safest available option.
- Help others only when that does not place you or them at greater risk.
Security / incident management
- Call 000, communicate safe escape/hide options and prevent others entering the threat area.
- Provide police with factual live information, CCTV and access details.
When police arrive
- Follow instructions immediately, remain calm and keep hands empty and visible.
- Do not make sudden movements or run toward officers.

- Exact incident and last-known attacker location
- Number and description of offender(s)
- Weapons observed and direction of travel
- Number of people in the area and known injuries
- Safe/unsafe access points, CCTV and building layout
- Any information about motive or statements, if known

WHEN THE IMMEDIATE DANGER HAS PASSED
Recovery and reporting
- Remain in a secure location until police direct otherwise.
- Provide first aid only when the threat is no longer placing you at risk.
- Preserve messages, images, access records and witness observations.
- Support reunification, welfare and trauma care under the site plan.
- Do not post unverified or operational information publicly.
